We found the perfect solution to the "winter blues" - go somewhere warm and have plenty of fun! We sure did and even made some new friends along the way! Enjoy the pics!

The kiddos got to go back to school for about a week, then our teachers went out on strike. The strike began January 9th, and lasted till January 19th. At least during this time we had some pretty nice weather, and plenty of friends around for the kiddos to play with, so there was plenty to do. We even made a trip to the Philly zoo...
We rang in the new year with friends at the Markerts!! The kiddos got to take a quick dip in the hot tub, drink sparkling cider, and of course have fun with their friends. The parents partook in great food, drinks, and actually some adult conversation :) Thanks for having us over and bring on 2012!!
It's that time of year that we take an overnight trip to Clarks Summit, Pa and visit with Aunt Alison, Uncle Bob, Jeremiah, Avery, and Taylor. This year we even go to visit with my other aunt Noelle and her kiddos (John Jacob and Daniel). Big and little kids alike had alot of fun on this visit!!
It's been a few years since we've been up to NYC with the girls, so we decided to head up the week between christmas and new years. It was quite chilly, but the hustle and bustle of the big city really warmed everyone up. We enjoyed the sights and sounds, and shopping with grandmom Reedell at our side. We even ventured to a yarn shop and picked out some new projects for grandmom to work on (in her spare time - lol!).
It was a great day spent with the entire family!!
We started out the day with the four of us, then the Reedell side came for brunch, then we had some "down time" and then the Schafer/Scheib side came over for dessert and our gift exchange. It was a day of fun had by all!!

It has now been over a year since I wore any kind of sneakers for working out (besides spinning, where I use my bike shoes)... so I decided it was time to invest in a new pair of Vibrams Fivefingers shoes. I was psyched and ordered right away... I LOVE my vibrams!!!
And then I decided that I wanted another pair... should have left well enough alone. I found a really great price, then ordered. The company took a long time to send them out, and they just "didn't seem right". I then went on my first longer run with them, and by the end my feet were bloody and blistered. This NEVER happened with any of my other vibrams. After looking closer, I realized they must be counterfeit vibrams. I contacted the real vibrams, they put this site on their fake list, and would be investigating to shut the site down. I couldn't believe this was happening. But on the bright side, the credit card company stopped payment on the order and would be investigating themselves. I then went and ordered a new pair, from an authorized vibram retailer... because I can't live without my vibrams!!
the fake ones... notice they don't fit as well, and the insides just didn't feel right - of course hindsight is always 20/20...
Angela's girl scout troop took a nice evening hayride through the light show at Shadybrook Farms. The night was chilly, but it felt like the holidays! We had a great time munching on cookies then it was time for the pizza party and the gift exchange with the troop. The girls loved it...
I was sooo excited when my P90X2 was delivered to my doorstep!! Scott and I LOVED doing the first P90X and were pretty psysched about what Tony Horton had in store for us. Then you add the new nutrition guide, and what could be better - a better you for the holidays!!

We enjoyed a nice visit with Santa at the Haluska household. Santa was fantastic and the girls loved chatting with him - no lines or time limits!! They were all geared up for christmas after this evening of fun!
I can't believe I've been teaching indoor cycling for almost 2 years now at LA Fitness. According to the AAAI/ISMA the certification only is valid for two years, then you have to get recertified for another year. So, instead of re-doing my spin cert, I decided to go for another one, this time "general group aerobics". It was a tough class, but in the end I passed... so I can now teach any class at the gym that I would like. So, hopefully in the near future I can pick up some kick boxing or body works class mixed with my P90X skills... should be fun!!
The girls started swimming lessons in december and are enjoying it immensely. They have learned soo much and look forward to this summer and LOTS more swimming time.
Hard to believe we have lived here for over 3 years now and Scott said "we should re-do the girls' rooms". Yeah, well that gave me the push to get it done - in less than 2 days they were totallly redecorated, reorganized, and the girls LOVE their new rooms.
