All registered for fall soccer

Last night we signed the girls up for fall soccer through the Lower South Athletic Association.  They are soooo excited to get started in a few weeks.  Angela is now on the "big kids team" for 6-9 year old - which should be interesting.  Elyse is on the "micros" for 4 and 5 year olds.  I'll be posting pictures when they get started...

Mom and Chemo Round #2

So my mom went to start chemo round #2 on the 4th of August - we were on vacation, so my dad took her down for the treatment.  She gets infused with 2 hours of meds at the hospital, then gets to take home 48 hours worth in a bottle that is attatched to her.  Luckily my aunt vicki is helping her out by disconnecting the meds when it's time.  She faired pretty well after this first dose.  She felt "good" and not much had changed healthwise.

This treatment is given every other week, so we headed down to Fox Chase on August 19th for dose #2.  We waited for a bit to get the blood results, to find out her platelette and white blood cell counts were low, so no chemo that day.

She is scheduled to go back and meet with the docs on the 25th (this thursday) and if all looks ok, then she will have her treatment then.
Please continue to keep my mom in your prayers.

school shopping

Each season grandmom Reedell takes the girls to do school shopping.  The girls always look sooo fantastic in all their new duds, and best of all us "gals" get to spend the day together.  Thank you grandmom Reedell... just wait till you see your little princesses this school year!

Sunny days at Sesame w friends

We were lucky enough to spend the day at Sesame Place with Heather and McKenna.  The girls had fun playing, riding rides, and just being girls!!  The weather was great on "the street" and everyone enjoyed themselves!!!
ignore the look on Elyse's face... she was being grumpy at that moment....

No matter the weather, they Tri'd....

Just like an adult triathlon, the Dog Days of Summer Kids Triathlon went on rain or shine.  And trust me, the only thing shining were the kids during the race.  The race took place on August 14th, and was Angela's 3rd triathlon and Elyse's 2nd.  Angela was VERY excited since she was in the "big kids division" for 6 and 7 year olds.  She would be doing the race all by herself for the first time.  Elyse was still in the wee-bees division (for 3-5 year olds) and this was completed with a parent by the child's side.  Because of the inclimate weather the tri was turned into a "modified duathlon".  The kids would still do the swim and the run, but the roads were too much of a hazard, so they emitted that portion.  It rained steadily for the hours we stood there - but no one minded, the kids had a blast.  They both crossed the finish line, gladly took their trophies, and asked "when can we do our next race"?  Must be in their blood!!   Congrats to our little triathletes!!

it's a Shore thing...

So, every year Scott and I participate in the Brigantine Triathlon in early August.  We started talking about renting a house down on the island for a week, so we could do the race and then relax... and that is EXACTLY what we did!!
We headed down to the shore on the 4th of August, and enjoyed a few day stay at Aunt Gerry's house.  The girls always enjoy visitng and "entertaining" both Aunt Gerry and her cat Oliver.  We spent the day in Ocean City on friday, then stopped at Brigantine with Grandmom (who came down to spend some time with us and watch the girls during our race), played on the beach, and then picked up our "race stuff".  We then all went out to dinner, and off to bed.

Saturday morning we headed to Brigantine for our 8th year doing this triathlon.  The weather was perfect... or as perfect as it gets in August.  Both Scott and I finished 9th in our age groups and crossed the finish line with our girls running next to us - we love this tradition!!!

Then it was back to Aunt Gerry's to shower and pack up - we were going to our beach house for the week - yeah!  We picked up our keys and "moved into" the Raman - which is beach front and has a pool.  Our condo was two stories with balconies and HUGE windows w every room.  We loved this place and can't wait to go again.  We were lucky enough to spend the week with friends.  Our friends Tom and Julie (and their boys Chris and Jake) rented the condo next to ours, so we had even more fun at the beach.  We also had visits from the Rapones (Jeff, Kim, Megan, and Justin) and the Turners (Kelley, Gemma, and Liam).  The weather was PERFECT.  The water was warm (84 degrees) and the kids had a blast.  The girls are now boogie board experts!!  Here are a bunch of pics of the fun we had....
