unhappy tree...

check out this tree's "face"....

think he wasn't too happy for an October snow either!  LOL

Happy Halloween from the Reedell Gals

This was our recent Halloween photo shoot...

Happy Halloween!!

Pumpkin Carving Time

luckily Angela reminded us tonight (sunday) that we still needed to carve our pumpkins...

Solly Brothers Farm

It's that time of the year... field trip time for Scottsville Preschool.  We enjoyed a nice day at the farm with friends.  The kiddos learned what it takes to run a farm, pick pumpkins, eat healthy foods, and best of all, how to enjoy the outdoors!!  We were fortunate that the weather cooperated, and all had fun!!

Halloween - spinning style!

Wings, beer, and spinning?  Hmmmm... ok it wasn't really the first two, but I was LA Fitness's first Hooters girl to teach a spin class.  I came with my outfit covered up and right before class started, surprised everyone with my "costume".  Everyone got a good chuckle - Happy Halloween All!

what is wrong with this picture?

hmmm... Angela looks a bit furry today...

toothless wonder

This week was VERY busy for the tooth fairy in the Reedell household.  She visited Angela twice... in two days!  Angela has now lost 6 teeth, and fits in well with the season - as a jack o lantern!  With any luck the teeth will grow in before she looses any more teeth, or we'll have to go back to babyfood.

Fall Pictures

Each year we look forward to taking fun shots in the backyard.  Although we didn't have the beautiful colors of last year, the pictures still came out cute - enjoy!
Here are a few of our favorites...

Very scary... an October Nor'Easter

Wow... seemed like just a few days ago it was sunny and 70 degrees - oh yeah, it WAS!  And then came along a crazy weather system that gave us a freak late October snowstorm.  Snow amounts ranged from less than an inch in Philly to over a foot in the Poconos.  It was VERY strange to see pumpkins and snowmen sitting side by side.  We ventured up to Washington, NJ to visit Grandmom Reedell, not knowing the snow was going to move in soo quickly.  Luckily we did take some gloves and hats, so the we had our "first official Reedell snowball fight" of the season.  The girls even enjoyed sledding on the driveway when we got home and built their first ever October snowman.  It has been a crazy year weatherwise... guess we'll have to wait and see what this winter will bring!!

watching some tv....

if you need a chuckle, then check out Ollie and Jake enjoying some tv time together....
and by the way, neither mind... too cute!!

Wow, 9 years ago...

We had just become Mr. and Mrs. Scott Reedell.  Hard to believe it's been that long already.  And even harder to believe all that we have done in those years.  It's been a great 9 years, and we are looking forward to many more to come!!!
We couldn't get out on our anniversary, but we did get to go out to dinner the night after, just the two of us.  It was great to have a quiet evening out to celebrate us!!

NE Philly LA Fitness

About a month ago I took on another spin class.  This time it was at the brand new LA Fitness in NE Philadelphia (located on Grant Ave, close to the intersection of Grant and the Blvd).  Their facilities are beautiful, and the spin room rocks.  I teach every tuesday morning at 9:15am - come join me for a spin that you won't soon forget!!
This is the new spin room - with stadium seating, fans on the ceiling and "just enough lighting" it makes for a fantastic place to teach and take a class.    But don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself!!

Soccer Picture Time

This was our first time EVER to have professional sports pictures done.  Every other year, we would be away or busy, but this year we finally got them taken.  These are the two team pictures taken on my phone, so I will post the "real pictures" when we get them back....

Both teams are having a GREAT season - thanks to great coaches and fantastic kids!!!

Firefighter Prevention Days

What a great way to teach kids how they can prevent fires! We went over to the Trevose Firecompany for a day of fun. The girls got to learn how to crawl through the smoke of a "burning trailer" and then climb out the window safely. They also donned their pink firegirl hats, then aimed the firehose at the burning buildings. They were amazed how hard it was to direct the hose and the force of the water. We saw many friends and had a great day!

Fun fall day with the family!!

We finally had a "free day" on the weekend, so we decided to head to the orchard for some apple picking.  It was actually around 75 degrees and VERY sunny while we were riding the wagon out to the fields.  The girls helped us find lots of apples - and it is true, they are sooo much better fresh off the tree than from the supermarket!!  We then came home and enjoyed an apple cobbler and delicious apples for the next week or so.  Great family day!!

friday night soccer

Both girls played soccer and had a blast - Angela is on the purple team, Elyse is on the yellow.  I will have to take some good pics with my real camera, since my phone does not take good pics at night - booo....

my new mantra

Atlantic City International Triathlon

Scott and I had registered for this race a few months ago.  Atlantic City has NEVER had a triathlon, so we were excited to try a new race.  Luckily Grandmom Reedell took the girls for a weekend at "camp grandmom" and Scott and I headed down to AC on saturday for packet pick-up.  The rain was falling nicely, but it didn't stop us from going shopping at the outlets and even did some gambling (good job to Scott for winning at the slots).  We then went to Ocean City (where we were staying that night) and enjoyed a nice stroll on the boardwalk and at those all important "pre race french fries"... ok, not the best pre-race fuel, but they sure did tast FABULOUS!!

We were up nice and early, left the house at 5:00am, parked at the casino, walked into Boardwalk Hall (this was our first time having transition inside a builidng), got our "stuff" set up, and headed up the boardwalk to the start of the swim.  We were advised that the swim was shortened frm 1 mile to .6 miles and changed direction bc of the current.  As we walked up you could see the white caps... yes, big waves.  I was a little concerned, but figured the race officials would not allow us in if they had any questions.  Finally it was race time.  Scott's wave (the light blue swim caps) was first.  There were about 80 men in his group.  They had to swim out to the first bouey, then turn right and swim parallel to the boardwalk the .6 miles to the last bouey then exit the water.  They ran into the water, and very quickly, many were being tossed around by the waves.  Within 10 minutes (or so) 50 men had to "rescued" and brought back to the beach.  At that time they took their race numbers, and they were disqualified from the rest of the race.  They started the next wave, and it became evident that the waters were TOO rough to make this swim possible, so they cancelled the swim immediately.  There were a handful who made it out and actually did the whole swim - cudos to them!!  We then all walked back to boardwalk hall, and were told, we would doing a "time trial start" for the bike.  They would have 5 bikers take off every 5 seconds, out on our 22 mile bike ride.  It was cool bc it took place on the AC expressway.  Traffic was stopped, we rode through toll booths (they didn't make up pay thankfully), and although it was flat, it was SUPER windy.  We then got back to boardwalk hall, changed into our running gear and we were off on the 6.2 mile run.  It was another VERY flat, but windy 6.2 mile run.   But in the end, both Scott and I had GREAT times, on our bikes and run, and can't wait to do it again next year!!

And it was a fantastic way to end the triathlon season - I got second place in my division... was behind 1st place by 2 minutes and beat third place out by 18 minutes... but best of all, I felt great, had a great time doing the race and am VERY proud of my accomplishments!!

After packing up, we headed back to Ocean City to clean up and then enjoy the boardwalk for a bit.  It was great to spend some time with just scott.... which doesn't happen too much these days...  Of course it was short lived bc I had to drop him off at the airport on the way home, so he could go to florida for the week.  But at least we had a fun weekend doing what we love - racing!!!
all finished the AC International Triathlon - oh yeah!
taking my place on the second place podium
sprinting to that finishline
the waves... yes, this is why the swim was cancelled
the air show in Ocean City....
