Birthday Party Time

Usually we try to have the girls' party between their birthdays.  This year was a bit different since we wanted to wait until Angela's school year was over (she got out on the 27th of June due to our school district being on strike) and for the weather to be warm enough for everyone to enjoy a pool party.  We had the party a the phoenix swim club - had over 90 people there, and it was perfect.  Great location, great party, and best of all - VERY happy kiddos!

too funny

BRAVE

It is only a matter of time before they ask for a bow and arrow after seeing BRAVE.  Yet another fantastic movie - thanks Disney!

The Trail of the Lorax at the Philadelphia Zoo

The girls enjoyed a trip to the Philadelphia Zoo for the Trail of the Lorax.  It was based on the original book called "The Lorax"  by Dr. Seuss and was all about saving the trees.  The zoo had exhibits all over the grounds for the kids to learn orangatan yoga, how orangtans live, and then of course how to work with nature.  Great job Philly Zoo for another FANTASTIC day!

Happy 7th Birthday Angela

Seven years ago, at 4:26am, Angela Kirstin was born at University of Pennsylvania Hospital.  She was a fighter from the moment of birth and continues that today.  At 7 years old, you are growing into a beautiful young woman who we are proud of everything you have accomplished.  Here a few pics of Angela 7 years ago and today.... Enjoy!
Angela's first picture after birth - we call this the "pirate eye"...

this was taken right after her surgery -she was all puffed up with meds, but sleeping peacefully!

And this is today - 7 years old, totally healthy, and happy!!

We love you Princess Angela!!

Fun with Friends

Just becuase the teachers aren't have fun on strike, doesn't mean the kiddos shouldn't!  The girls had several playdates with their friends....

It's Dressmaking time...

Since Angela was off from school, Grandmom Reedell came down to our house for a visit.  She brought a pattern with her, then the girls picked out their favorite fabrics, and then the sewing began.  The outfits turned out soooo cute!!

And the Final Products...

Hi Ho Hi Ho, it's off to striking we go

For the second time during this school year, Neshaminy School District's teachers went on strike.  On june 4th, the kiddos got to sleep in and start their brief summer vacation a bit early.

But thankfully, the weather was pefect for a minor league ballgame.  We packed up some kiddos (Sean, Mackenzie, Angela, and Elyse) and went to cheer the Trenton Thunder game on 10:35am.  The kiddos loved pictures with the mascots, petting the "bat dogs", and of course the baseball game.

Butterfly Release

Each year the hospice company who took care of my FIL does a butterfly release in honor of all of their patients.  This year the weather was perfect for such a fantastic program.

Who wouldn't love a polka dot recliner?

Elyse got her sewing machine... Angela got her recliner - too cute!

and the pets like it too...

truely a family favorite!!  Thank you grandmom Reedell!

Sesame With Friends

Although we don't have passes to Sesame this year, we still get to go a few times...

and not only did we enjoy a day at Sesame, but we also got to spend the day with the Kamienski Family.

Monster Golf

There is nothing like playing golf in the dark.

Phoenix Swim Club

This was our first year we decided to NOT become members of Sesame Place.  The girls wanted to join the swim club instead this year - so off we went to the Phoenix Swim Club.  We have enjoyed several days there on weekends and look forward to a fun summer of swimming fun ahead!

Party of 17

After a great couple of days w field day, graduation, and a GS move up ceremony, we went out to dinner with a few families - all totally up to 17 people at Red Robin (the place may NEVER be the same again).  It was quite an experience... to say the least!

Let the sewing madness begin!

Elyse gets numerous "ideas".  Her most recent one was that she wanted a sewing machine.  She was sure this is what she wanted for her birthday, so when Grandmom Reedell came to visit, we went out and picked a basic machine for Elyse.  They immediately went home and sewed their first project, a drawstring bag and began planning for their next project - a dress!

LOSO Field Day 2012

After having soo much rain this spring, we were fearing that our field day would be rained out.  But we were lucky enough, that it was a beautiful day for the kids to enjoy an active day outside!!  Angela was on the red team, proudly wore her "homemade t-shirt" and gave it her all.  Her favorite activity was kickball and tug of war.  In the end, the blue team won, but everyone had a great time - so everyone was the REAL winner!

Congrats to the newest Brownie!

Angela LOVED her first year as a girl scout daisy and now is VERY much looking forward to being a brownie.  And to make it even more "fun", I will be one of her leaders in fall... cross your fingers!

Elyse's Graduation

Congrats to Elyse Morgan Reedell on her recent pre-k graduation from Scottsville Preschool.  She enjoyed a fun and educational year with Mrs. Dearing and Mrs. Morell.  She will miss the school and her many friends, but is VERY excited to head off to Lower South and kindergarten in fall of 2012!

Sesame Classic Time

It's that time of the year - time to lace us the shoes for a good cause.  The four of us entered in the 2012 Sesame Classic.  The girls ran the 1 mile run (with us right next to them) and then Scott and myself ran the 5k race.  Both of us did VERY well, and came pretty close to medaling in our age groups.  The girls then raced in the "Sesame Sprint" and got medals for their effort.  It was a beautiful day to be active and raise LOTS of money!!

sprinting to the finish line!
The Reedell Clan post race

Life is a rollercoaster

and Angela is enjoying the ride!
